
Advertising your product is one of the first steps towards selling that product.
So it struck me as strange when I found out that soft drink giant Coca-Cola has changed their slogan more than 40 times!
Here's the entire list, courtesy of the Coca-Cola website.
Their first slogan back in 1886 was pretty straight-forward: "Drink Coca-Cola".
One of the oddest? Back in 1927: "Pure as Sunlight" (maybe...if you're talking about smoggy Los Angeles! Isn't Coke brown and kind of murky like the L.A. skyline?)
The current slogan? It must not be that good, because I didn't know it: "The Coke Side of Life".
Sales messages are often best remembered within the slogans associated with the product being sold. Even if you're a one-man show, and don't have a corporate sales and advertising department at your disposal, you should pay attention to your sales slogan and develop it to mean a lot to your customers and prospects.
