One of the biggest challenges when you're working in corporate America is staying in shape. Actually, its a challenge no matter what kind of job or business you're in. But if you're trapped in an office day after day, it makes staying in shape all the more difficult.
I heard about a great exercise routine that can be done just about anywhere that will burn fat and increase muscle mass. And, it only takes about ten minutes! (Don't worry...I'm not coming out with a set of exercise DVD's for sale...)
Here it is. See what you think of it...
- Do 50 squats (and do them quickly!).
- Mark off a point about 100 feet in front of you. Run to it and back, lifting your knees high at each step.
- Return to the 100-feet mark, this time kicking your rear end with your heels as you run. Come back doing the same.
- Return to the 100-feet mark, this time getting into squat position and jumping forward as far as you can, landing in squat position. Come back doing the same.
- Do 10 push-ups.
This workout gets your heart pumping while helping to strengthen the long muscles in your legs. Try it!
I once worked for a company that had a gym for employees. It was really nice to work out during my lunch break.
For those who aren't so fortunate, these exercises are great. I actually like to do squats and lunges. You can also bring small 5 lb weights and store them in a drawer at work.
