
The music world is abuzz about Prince's decision to basically give away his latest
album to the public.
Will it change the music industry? I don't know...but its something that will certainly generate buzz, and (no doubt) millions of sales leads disguised as new Prince fans who are buying his "free" album.
Whatever you think of Prince as a performer, you have to admire his marketing style.







The Prince giveaway definitely represents one of the ways forward. It is a variation of advertising supported music, which will be the principal revenue stream of the future recorded music industry.
