
"This" is a recent story about a proud new father who convinced his wife to name their new son Espen, after the sports television network ESPN. His middle name is Montana, after - you guessed it - NFL quarterback Joe Montana.
What does this have to do with selling and sales? ESPN is a TV network. What would cause someone to name their first-born son after a TV network?
Passion. Love of the product. Being very, very satisfied with his "purchases" every night as he watches SportsCenter.
The thing is, ESPN doesn't set out to get their viewers to name their
kids after them. I think the lesson here is that ESPN delivers great content in a way that their customers want. The result is ongoing "sales" and satisfied "customers". In the case of Rusty Real, really satisfied customers!
