Agreed. Been a fan of Gitomer's for many years (syndicated columns, e-zine, teleseminars and personal appearances). To his point on Professional Mentors, it's an often overlooked but key factor in developing a successful sales career. I was very fortunate to have been taken under several wings in my 20's by bosses who mentored my sales & marketing growth by always allowing me to learn from mistakes and offering encouragement and guidance in the form of "lessons learned" from their own experiences.

It's equally important to remember to give back this wisdom to the next generation and start to develop as a mentor to others.
