If you look to the right of this post, you'll notice that Orbitz has become an advertiser here at LandingTheDeal and KMM.
I like Orbitz. I actually book almost all of my travel through Orbitz, and I will continue to do so.
Priceline is a little to risky for me. I don't want to end up on a 2am flight with four plane changes just to save $100.
Travelocity's "roaming gnome" gives me the creeps. I just don't get the humor, and I am getting really, really tired of their radio commercials.
Going through a travel agent? Come on, get serious.
I also like Orbitz because they have this cool little feature when you're traveling...they'll call you on your cell phone and give you "flight status updates" as you travel. I have actually found out about an unexpected gate change and a delayed departure through this free service.
So, welcome Orbitz as an advertiser by giving them some of your travel business. They have great rates, great service, an easy to maneuver website, and those cool travel updates I just talked about.
Where's the sales lesson in this whole post, you may ask? Well, I'm not sure, to be honest with you. But I will say this...Orbitz has done its job by making me a loyal, happy customer who went out of his way to speak nicely about them on a well-read sales and marketing blog. If just one person acts on my recommendation, and uses Orbitz, that's a pretty good real life sales lesson...right?
