OK, I don't get it. When it comes to concert tour sales, The Rolling Stones are leading the pack here in 2006.
That surprised me. I mean, I know that the Stones are rock and roll legends and have cultivated a following over several decades. But the #1 concert tour in the U.S.? Here in 2006? $147.3 million dollars in gross concert sales? Wow!
And the parade of old guy bands raking it in doesn't stop there: Coming in at #2 was U2, followed by Bon Jovi and Billy Joel.
Why the success? Devotion. Being genuine. A quality product.
These are the things that stand the test of time. And for these bands, they've made quality their trademark.
Is there really a tie-in between your sales career and The Rolling Stones having one heck of a year? It might. First of all, take another look at the list of those groups. If you're like me, they're names you grew up with. And even if they weren't your "favorite" band, longevity and familiarity have a way of endearing their brand to you. It's funny how that works.
