Another message, via Seth Godin, from the sales pro to the marketing department:
Usually, customers lie when they turn me down. They make up reasons. But every once in a while, I actually learn something in the field. Ask!
In many organizations, sales professionals are the feet-on-the-street and the face of the company. They get the first hand knowledge. They get the complaints. They get the feedback, good and bad. The people in marketing would do well to treat their sales co-workers with respect and view them as a resource.
