One more thing from the gem and mineral show...
These two cuties are my daughter and her cousin. They liked looking at all the rocks on display, but got really excited when they came upon a part of one booth that was selling "rock grab bags" for $2.50 each (my daughter, on the left, looks like she's holding up a pair of small white underwear...in reality, if you look closely, you'll see that it is a white bag with the words "rock grab bag" written near the top).
Each of the kids had to have one. No idea what was inside, no guarantee of the quality...but they had to have a mystery grab bag.
Wow, what a sales technique! This vendor knows that sometimes we just can't resist a little mystery...a little bit of the unknown...and, if the price is right, we're more than willing to take a chance on what we can't see instead of something that costs the same that we can see.
Is there a way to incorporate a little mystery and fun into what you're selling? Keep it in mind. $5 of the $20 or so that we spent at the rock show was for two grab bags that probably cost the guy around 25 cents to fill (24 of those cents was the cost of the bag, I think).
