Fifth in a series:
The Jim Holvay story continues...from rock-n-roll star to wanna-be
sales rep. Armed with his fake resume and a super fly blue velvet suit, he goes for the interview for the sales position...
"There were three or four interviews with different people. At the end of it all, they told me 'You're hired.' I signed on for $1,250 per month.
"So, they sent me back to the HR lady to fill out all my paperwork and fill out my W-2 form. Remember, I need every cent I can get my hands on, so I ask her, 'How many withholdings can I claim on my form? What's the most you can claim?' She thought about it for a second, and then told me that the maximum you could claim was 34. So, I marked down 34 dependents on my W-2 form! When I got my check, they had only withheld about $1 from it! Hilarious..."
If you're a new sales rep, you might want to try that one on your HR person!
