The host country, Germany, is enjoying lots of increased sales and an economic boom...right?
Maybe, maybe not.
Breweries and flag manufacturers are raking in big bucks. Distribution
centers are doing well, according to one business article in Germany. However, some European economists are saying that all of the special spending on the World Cup isn't going to have much of an economic impact on the gross domestic product numbers in Germany. And, many retailers are saying that extended hours aren't going to pay off as much as they had hoped.
