Happy Fathers Day

The luckiest dad in the world

My 10-year old daughter surprised me today with the news that she entered me in our local newspaper's "Father of the Year" contest, but was disappointed when she told me that she found out today that I didn't win.

Here is the letter she submitted to the newspaper for the contest:

I nominate my Daddy, Daniel Tudor,as Father of the Year because he is strong, he can lift me on his shoulders.  He coaches my Girls Softball team, he also teaches me how to play Basketball.  He is fun, he tickles us.  He kisses me and my sister goodnight every night.  He cooks waffles for us every Sunday morning.  He takes us to church every Sunday.  Sometimes he lets us go to his office after school.  He makes sandcastles with us when we go to the beach.  He takes my cousins, and my sister and I to the movie theatre every once in a while.  He supports what we want to do.  He helps me with my homework and school projects.  He takes my neighbor's kids and my sister and I to school every morning.  In our opinion he is very handsome.  We love him, he is the best Dad in the world.
From:
Cambria and Kaley Tudor
She thinks I didn't win.  Funny...I feel like I just hit the jackpot.
For all of you who are fathers first and sales professional second, have a great Fathers Day.  Hug and kiss your kids...and keep your priorities in check the rest of the year.
In case you're wondering, their letter is going to be framed and will hang in my office for the rest of my professional life.

Well, you clearly have them SOLD! Just kidding.

What a great letter. It's also a great example of copywriting to sell. It certainly sells me on your benefits as a Daddy.

Keep up the great work, Dan! And Happy Father's Day.

Dan,
Great post! Keep that perspective, because 100 years from now no one will care if we made our quota, or trips to president's clubs, or won salesmen of the year awards...but we will have an impact on our children and their children and their children if we live right.

Dan:

Sounds like you had a wonderful father's day. Thanks for sharing your letter! You must have some amazing girls.

I have two daughters as well. Age 3 and 1. We have lots of fun together. And it's nice to see other dads out there blogging about cool topics and involving their kids.

I just started a blog called www.abbyandlucy.com. If you have any good tips on blogging, please drop me an email. I too am a salesperson, and recently started my own business.

Life is good. Have a great day!

Derek
