I spent 30 minutes going over a proposal with someone today in my office. I was on the fence about buying what they were selling, but would have probably done it....
If...
THEY JUST WOULD HAVE ASKED FOR THE SALE!
Instead, I heard: "Well hey, we've talked over a lot of stuff today. Why don't I give you a week or so to think it over and then give me a call."
She lost the sale. I didn't tell her, but it was over the second she finished the sentence.
She thought that asking for the sale would be "pushy" or "rude" or "too much of a hard sell." I thought it would have been the next logical step in our conversation.
The lesson for you: Ask for the sale. For the love of God, ASK FOR THE SALE!
