First, lets start with your business and how you sell it. More than likely, you're doing it with brochures, radio and TV advertising, sales reps or direct mail. All very expensive. And, as you may have found out in not being original with your approach, not all that effective much of the time.
Now, take a look at Judson Laipply. He's a young comedian. He's trying to get jobs, make sales, and make money.
How is he doing it? He's sharing a video - for free - on the Internet. Now, it's one of the most viewed videos on YouTube.com. Tens of thousands of people have watched his six-minute "brochure" entitled "The Evolution of Dance." It links to his simple, one page website (his other "brochure"). If I were looking for a corporate speaker/comedian, I now have a sample of his work and a way to get in touch with him.
Meanwhile, your brochure and nicely printed proposal and/or pricing page is in the trash can.
The sales lessons seem pretty obvious to me. How about you?
