That seems like a strange question to ask the average sales professional, I know. But I'm serious: Why haven't you published a book yet?
I'm getting ready to publish a speciality sales book. I found out about LuLu.com. They'll publish your book for free. No set-up charges, no up front fees...just a royalty on anything that sells. Wow.
So I ask you the question again: Why haven't you published a book yet?
Do you sell insurance? Write a short book available to your customers and prospects on the dangers of under-insuring. Do you sell cars? Write a book on the ten most common mistakes car buyers make. Do you sell cosmetics? Write a book on how to cover up the most common signs of aging with make-up.
What does it do for you? IT MAKES YOU A PUBLISHED AUTHOR! That holds a great deal of weight with consumers...your current customers, and your prospects. Is there a better way to make yourself a credible sales professional? Let me know if you can think of one...I can't. Authoring a book makes you an instant "expert" on your subject/product/service and will propel you beyond being "just another sales rep."
Think seriously about what I'm recommending to you. I can think of three short books I'll be writing now this year, and I'll publish them through LuLu.
That's two cool discoveries in one month! First, the best sales lead generator I've ever used, and now an easy and inexpensive way to become a published author!

Hey, thanks for the spam comment.
If I ever find out who you are, I will hunt you down and gut you like a fish.
Just for that, even if I suffer from terminal depression, I will not ever, EVER use Xanex. So there.
