Ever notice how the mention of "a study" in any kind of sales presentation automatically lends tons of credence to whatever it is being sold?
"Studies show" eggs are bad for you? We invet Egg Beaters. "Studies show" that aliens are less likely to zap your brain if you wear protective head covering of some kind? We invent hats to stop aliens from reading our minds (and the government, for that matter).
So, when Janel and Ernesto mentioned "a study" (they actually named it, but I can't remember who it was that did the study...that's irrelevant anyway...the fact that it was a study is what's important here people!) that showed most families waste 25% of their food by cooking out all of the nutrients, it got our attention. It helped sell their cookware, which they demonstrated would not do that.
I have photographic proof of what they were talking about: This is a picture of boiled carrots. They tasted awful compared to the carrots that were cooked in their AmericanMaid cookware. Honest...they were the best tasting carrots I'd ever eaten, and they were basically just steamed with some other vegetables.
The glass of black liquid? They boiled some water in a Teflon pan of ours...that's the residue that was extracted into the water. Not good, obviously. Scary, in fact...that's a great way to demonstrate your point and build a case for the sale!
