Why Does Starbucks Sell CDs?

And, if they are going to go ahead and sell CDs, why not make it an "in your face" item?

Because most of Starbuck's customers are women.  Most women buy from the periphery - that is, they buy things that aren't being sold directly to them.  That's why CD sales at Starbucks are huge...they sit at the side of the register, it's an "after thought" sale.

Starbucks knows their audience.  They know how to present to that audience.  They know their buying motives.

Do you know what makes your audience buy?
