
My rant the other day against the Yahoo! sales rep that called was an isolated incident, I thought.
Stupid me.
I get a call today from a sales rep from a potential new vendor. He tells me about his service, then I ask him his price for a particular service.
His reply: "Well, we ask for ("x") but we know we'll never get that. It's just not reasonable. So, I'll have to get back to you with our price."
My jaw hit the floor.
Does that kind of selling really take place in today's business world? And, do companies train their sales people any more?
My jaw is still on the floor. Give me a day or two...it'll get back to normal.
