

Think you should "blend in" when it comes to business, selling, or branding? Despite the pessimism of the message above, the answer is a resounding "yes".
If you're looking for a job, blending in can be catastrophic. That's why one recent college grad went the extra mile and is setting himself apart in his job search.
There are two great posts today about the dangers of blending in. Seth Godin has a quick post here, and a new blog I found today, Buzzoodle (darn, I wish I would have thought of that cool web name!) expounds on it as well. Ron has a great post on the subject.
It's tough to separate yourself from the crowd and be "purple". But it usually pays off big time when you choose to do so. All it takes is courage, and the decision not to be lazy when it comes to personal branding.







Work isn't the same as that in the school.
