Sound like your work life in business and sales?
You're not alone.
According to a recent study, American workers are accomplishing less in their day now than they did a decade ago.
One excerpt from the article:
"Technology has sped everything up and, by speeding everything up, it's slowed everything down, paradoxically," said John Challenger, chief executive of Chicago-based outplacement consultants Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc.
"We never concentrate on one task anymore. You take a little chip out of it, and then you're on to the next thing," Challenger said on Wednesday. "It's harder to feel like you're accomplishing something."
I find this problem to be especially true with sales and business professionals (myself included!)...e-mails come in, cell phones ring...and less and less time gets spent in front of customers or prospects getting business done.
Managing technology, most of which can be very useful tools, is vital if you hope to be successful in sales. Selling means getting in front of customers and developing relationships, at least in most industries.
How's your productivity?
