My daughter's favorite booth? The one selling fresh popped kettle corn.
My favorite booth? The super knife booth.
The guy running it was a showman, as well as a salesman. He drew people in...he interacted with them...he tempted everyone with free stuff...he was funny...and, he could sell.
The highlight of the sales presentation: When he used one of his knives to cut through the metal head of a hammer (obviously, he's seen me grill steak!).
After about 10 minutes, he had me (and about seven other new found friends) holding open plastic bags that he had just given us, and he was dumping his product in them. There was no question we would buy them...none at all.
It cost me $25 for a lot of good knives, and gave me a great reminder of what a good salesman looks and sounds like.
