
You know what might have rescued the telemarketer? A clever comeback.
The problem with telemarketers is that they work off a script. You can tell because theres no passion. No connection. No nothing, most of the time.
I gave a response that was off the wall ridiculous, and she didn't know how to respond.
Question for you, the sales professional: How would you have answered a ridiculous excuse like that?
I know, I know...you don't get response like that. So, here's another question: How do you handle the regular objections you get? The regular put-offs by potential customers?
Do you freeze? Do you retreat? Think about it...if you have trouble answering objections, you're going to struggle in sales.
